Until then, I figured a general update is in order. My poor blog has been neglected the last few weeks, but in the meantime, I have snagged a few new favourite photos of my little monsters. It amazes me how they are each their own people, yet still look so much alike (and like Daddy!). They both have these incredible blue eyes and big pinchable cheeks.

He’s so bright eyed…after a night of terrible sleep for mom and dad.

She was our dog’s best friend and so patient with our children. She had taken years of jealousy from Lilly in stride. In fact, it was the subject of one of my first ever blog posts, titled “No, no, we don’t kick the kitty in the head.” Their relationship had blossomed into one that was playful and loving.

Today I want to remember Scurvy. Our beautiful, quirky and cuddly cat who will be so very missed.

When we first discovered Scurvy in my in-laws barn. Grooming herself while the other cats fought for food.

Our prissy girl was clearly not cut out for farm cat life.

Her first day as a house cat. Clearly, settling in to her new life just fine ;)

First off, we hosted family dinner at our place on the 20th with my mom’s side of the family. Love seeing everyone!

Cole received his very first Christmas present at family dinner. He promptly put it in his mouth to try and open it with his teeth…or just simply to eat it.

“My very first Christmas present! Can I eat it??”

My best friend, Colleen, always gets the kids the most incredible gifts. She has a knack for finding new and innovative products and ordering them when they are in the planning stage. She bought Lilly a Goldie Box set for her 3rd birthday and this Christmas, she bought Lilly the limited edition of the Lammily Doll. I am so proud that my daughter owns this!!

Over the holidays, I did have a few days of office work, but luckily was able to work from home. While I adore my coworkers, I do love the view from my home office

Colleen came to visit for a few days. She lives in Vancouver, so I only get to see her twice a year. I love every bit of time I get We planned a girls night with sushi and a movie.

Love this lady so very much. #besties

And the last few weeks (and several new teeth) has brought a world of new eating adventures for our little guy. He LOVES ribs.

Lilly’s looks almost legit.

After that, I headed down to my annual Christmas get together with my girlfriends. These girls are my old college roomates, who also stood beside me on my wedding day. They just get me in a way no one else does. A day with them is always like a much needed reboot for my soul.

They are just as crafty as me, so part of our time is always doing something pretty

Iris came up with this adorable DIY Christmas Tree Button Ornament & took this photo of how they turned out.

With my days at home numbered, I have felt motivated to get a few crafty projects done.

I started with a cute little candy holder for our front hallway to greet guests for the Christmas season. See the tutorial here.

We recently closed off the opening between our dining room and my study, giving me the opportunity to redesign my favourite room in the house. I’m not quite ready for the full reveal, but I can give you a few sneak peaks.
