Earth Hour has always been important in our household. We pay attention to the lights we have on all the time, but I do like the symbolic effect of turning all the lights off for an hour or so. This has become even more highlighted with our toddler.
2013 marked the third Earth Hour we have had with our little lady and the second where she was old enough to understand. This year we had our second annual Earth Hour Hide and Seek. Playing candle light makes it that much trickier.
Once we were all tuckered out, we headed into the living room to wind down. Lilly got a hold of the battery operated candle…
And of course, I had to take one of the candles in my study…my favourite room in the house looks even better in candle light.

Thanks! I know they learn it more in school now as well, but I want to ensure that we have the same message at home.

I love these shots! I also love candles. I wish I had thought of getting battery operated candles when my small people were tinier.

Hi Crys! Thanks for visiting Amanda’s Books and More! I just love those photos of your little girl. She looks like a doll. We like to do things earth friendly at our home, but we haven’t had the earth hour, although we have had power outages before. Thankfully it’s less often than in the previous years. I had you on Google+ and now I’ve added Bloglovin. Take care!

What a lovely reminder to think about the Earth more and who doesn’t think books look better by candlelight? And she is gorgeous by candlelight!
Happy WW!
