There is a women who has been in my life for the last 5 years. She is someone I look up to. No seriously. She’s got well over half a foot on me. Jokes aside, I have met few people with as much organization, determination and dedication in their lives as her. Working together with her for 5 years, we saw each other almost every day. We shared long car rides, hotel room for weekend business trips and even had our first babies together. She was one hell of a shoulder to me many times, including a time I broke down in the middle of the steps of our office. She sat with me.
Now it is time for me to sit with her. To give her a shoulder. This incredibly strong women who so easily provides one but rarely asks for one.
This past fall she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a beautiful, healthy and active mom of two who takes care of herself and her family. To say it was shocking is a grand understatement.
Last week she started her chemo therapy treatments. In order to gather a good visual support, one of her oldest friends started Pink Socks Rock Wednesdays. Now myself, my toddler daughter and even my husband, proudly wear our pink socks on Wednesdays to show we stand behind this amazing women.
I know many of you who visit my blog may not know her, but I would feel truly honoured and grateful if any of you wanted to join us and don your pink socks next Wednesday.

Thank you so much Erika! Unfortunately this is a fight that I think many people have experienced with someone we know. The upside is that it does create an army of supporters ready to lend a prayer, even to a stranger. Thank you again for your kind words. I will pass them along to her
